at The Machine ShopFeaturing two panel discussions:
Panel One – Give Back & Celebrate
Athena leaders give back to offer committed service to colleagues, community and the world. It is simple and untroubled even in a time when needs are great and solutions are elusive. Even when our efforts seem like a drop in the bucket, insufficient or pointless –we do it because it’s the right thing to do. Athena Leaders give to create worthy and lasting contributions creating success that will give more traction to advancing the greater good.
Celebration is not simply about happy occasions. Athena leaders Celebrate by gathering people together when they have something sad, painful or final to commemorate. It’s about taking the time to share and then elevating, creating action and forging lasting bonds. Celebration is used to promote a sense of shared purpose – to express their commitment to transforming what is into what can be. In celebrating we replant our feet in the circle of humanity.
Featuring Karen Lefave and Althea Allick. Athena Leaders become fierce advocates because they simply cannot do otherwise. They are passionate and personally devoted to what they believe. They refuse to be distracted – they have their moral compass in one hand and their action plan in the other. Fierce advocacy when tempered with respect generates a force for good. They go alone when they must but are often joined by others with a sense of shared purpose.
Panel Two – Act Courageously & Advocate Fiercely
Courage is not just what we traditionally see as grand heroics – acts in the face of life threatening situations. Athena Leaders give themselves permission to own their acts of courage - the smallest every day act, an ethical choice, a quietly kept promise. Courage is not the absence of fear – but the strength to act wisely when we are most afraid.
