What can you do to Maintain Your Brain?  The Alzheimer Society regularly

conducts presentations for community groups on brain health.  Members and

volunteers attending the 2013 Annual General Meeting and Volunteer

Appreciation Dinner will hear Janice Seppala, Education Coordinator with the

Alzheimer Society, provide insights on strategies to work the most important

muscle in the body.


The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District exists to

improve the quality of life for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and

related dementias, through programs such as support, education, recreation

therapy, and the Safely Home Wandering Registry, as well as annual financial

contributions to research.


It is estimated that there are almost 2,500 people with dementia living in the

Algoma District, and this number is expected to almost double within the next

25 years.
