COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Business Development & Education Committee
The mandate of this committee is to provide leadership in uniting Chamber members with community groups. To inform, engage and facilitate access to business development and education programs for Chamber Members.
Finance Committee
Government Relations Committee
The role of the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee is to enable legislation which helps build a strong community and business economic base. To achieve this, the Committee enhances the Chamber’s lobbying function in selective and strategic areas on behalf of members and improves relationships with government, business agencies and labour organizations.
Spring Expo Committee
This committee plans, organizes and implements the annual Spring Expo previously known as the Home & Outdoor Show.
Technology Committee
This committee assists the Chamber in achieving a goal to be recognized as a leader in technology and to be able to have the tools to better communicate with our member businesses and to provide our member businesses with relevant information and training opportunities also to establish a technology plan for the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce.
Membership Committee
The mandate of this committee is to develop and implement effective and valuable membership programs, events and services that will attract, retain, educate and increase participation of the Chamber membership. To develop and deliver effective marketing and communications content, products and tools.
Chamber Committee and Task Force meetings are generally held once per month and usually are approximately hour to an hour and a half in length. Some committees/Task Forces do not meet during the summer months of July and August.
